Wilson and Anne Wyatt established a debate scholarship with the express purpose of furthering debate within Jefferson County, KY. It was their strong belief that doing so would fulfill the needs of all students in the region by encouraging “clear thinking and articulate expression”. This scholarship fund grants students in Jefferson County, KY, many of whom would otherwise not have had the opportunity, the ability to travel to top debate camps around the nation to advance their debate skills, network with collegeiate debate staff and students, and become nationally competitive.

The debate scholarship was established with the
Community Foundation of Louisville, a non-profit that administers endowment funds for causes in Louisville, KY. Funds are administered through the
Jefferson County Public Education Foundation, an arm of Jefferson County Public Schools. The Wyatt Debate League owes immense thanks to both of these organizations and the work they continue to do in administering this and every fund. Without their work, our students would be left lacking in debate opportunities.
